Privacy Policy

Celestium is an astrology app that respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Data We Collect

Birth Chart Data

• Your name, birth date, birth time, and birth location are stored locally on your device only.
• This data never leaves your device unless you choose to use AI interpretations (see below).

Location Data

• Celestium requests location access to calculate relocated transit interpretations and planetary hours for your current position.
• Location data is processed entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your location.

AI Interpretation Requests (Optional)

AI-powered interpretations are entirely optional and use your own Anthropic API key (Bring Your Own Key). They are not tied to a Celestium Premium subscription.

If you enable AI Synthesis and add your Anthropic API key in Settings, your chart data — your name, birth date, birth time, and birth location — is sent directly from your device to Anthropic's API (api.anthropic.com) using your own key. Before the first such request, Celestium shows a consent prompt naming the data and the destination; no birth data is sent to Anthropic until you agree. The request does not pass through any Celestium server — Celestium never sees or stores these requests.

Anthropic's privacy policy governs how they handle API requests.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs
• We do not collect crash reports
• We do not use advertising frameworks
• We do not create user accounts
• We do not run any server that receives your data
• We do not share data with third parties (AI requests go directly from your device to Anthropic, using your own key)

Subscription Data

Celestium Premium unlocks app features — unlimited saved charts, couples & group mode, the full city atlas with advanced filters, and export/share. It does not involve any additional data collection.

Apple handles all payment processing. We receive a purchase receipt (via StoreKit on your device) to validate your subscription status. We do not have access to your payment information, and your chart data is never sent to Celestium for subscription validation.

API Key Storage

If you provide your own Anthropic API key, it is stored locally on your device. It is never transmitted to Celestium servers.

Data Retention

• All chart data is stored on your device and persists until you delete the app or clear the data from Settings.
• AI interpretation results are cached locally on your device for performance.
• AI requests go directly from your device to Anthropic using your own key, and only after you consent. Celestium runs no server that receives or retains them.

Children's Privacy

Celestium is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data on our servers, there is nothing to delete or export. All your data lives on your device and is under your control. To clear all local data, delete the Celestium app from your device.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated date.
