The first time you open an astrocartography map, it looks like a weather chart drawn by someone with a grudge against your geography teacher. Curved lines sweep across continents, each one labeled with a planet symbol you may or may not recognize. It's a lot, and none of it is explained on the map itself.
Here's the plain version. Each line marks the places on Earth where a planet from your birth chart was rising, setting, culminating overhead, or dipping below the horizon at the moment you were born. Stand near one, and that planet's themes get louder in your life; the further you are from all of your lines, the quieter and more neutral a place tends to feel. Sun line: visibility
Near your Sun line, you tend to feel more seen, more central, more like the main character of your own life. It's a good line for confidence, for stepping into leadership, for places where you stop shrinking. It can also turn the volume up on ego and attention in ways that aren't always comfortable.
Moon line: home in the body
The Moon line is about feeling, not achievement. Near it, life feels domestic, emotionally rich, close to family or found-family. People often describe it as the place that "feels like home" even the first week they arrive, sometimes before they can explain why.
Venus line: love and ease
This is the line most people ask about first. Near your Venus line, love tends to find you with less effort, and daily life has a softer, more beautiful texture: better food, better light, easier relationships. It's a favorite line for a honeymoon, a sabbatical, or just a place to feel taken care of.
Mars line: drive and friction
Mars lines run hot. Near this line, you have more energy, more competitive edge, more willingness to fight for what you want; it's excellent for ambition and physical vitality, and it can also mean more conflict and a shorter fuse. Worth visiting with intention, not moving to blindly.
Jupiter line: growth and luck
Near your Jupiter line, the world tends to feel generous. Doors open, opportunities show up a little easier, and there's a sense of expansion, more students, more travel, more room to grow. It's one of the most consistently loved lines for a reason.
Saturn line: structure and mastery
Saturn asks for something before it gives you anything. Near this line, life gets more serious; you'll likely work harder and face more real limits, but what you build there tends to last. People who move to a Saturn line often describe it as the place that made them an adult.
How to start
You don't need to know every line to get value from this. Start with the two or three planets that matter most to whatever you're solving for right now: Venus and Jupiter for a fresh start, Saturn if you're ready to build something serious, the Moon if you just want to feel held.
